Feminism: For "Nasty" Women Only

Speaking at a rally for Hillary Clinton in 2016, prominent Democrat and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said, "There's a special place in hell for women who don't help each other."

Indeed, the Left purports to be the side of modern feminism and inclusion, the side which seeks to empower and uplift women. Since President Trump's election in 2016, some fissures have begun to appear in that narrative. In fact, there seems to be a trend on the Left toward normalizing the degradation and harassment of conservative women because of their political affiliation. Like the myriad other contradictions the Left espouses, these inclusive attitudes only apply to their own.

In 2018, Sarah Sanders, then-White House Press Secretary for President Trump, was asked to leave the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, VA, due to her position in the Trump Administration. The restaurant's co-owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, later doubled-down on her intolerant act, claiming Sanders' work for the President "violated basic standards of humanity."

If that's not bad enough, during Melania Trump's address at the Republican National Convention this summer, liberal women like Bette Midler wasted no time taking to social media to disparage the First Lady. Tweets from the actress to her almost two-million followers included remarks such as, "She still can't speak English," and "Get that illegal alien off the stage!"

Michelle Obama was glorified during her years as the First Lady, appearing at least twelve times on magazine covers like Vogue, Time, Essence, and Glamour. Conversely, former model Melania Trump has not appeared on a single magazine cover since she moved into the White House.

Let's add the recent clash over filling the Supreme Court seat vacated by the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg to the list of things that make you go, "Hmmm…"

Mother of seven, wife, and former U.S. Court of Appeals Judge, Amy Coney Barrett, was confirmed as the newest Supreme Court Justice at the end of last month. You would think that feminists would celebrate this achievement, considering Justice Barrett is only the fifth woman to be confirmed to the high court. You thought wrong.

In her confirmation hearing, Barrett declared her obligation to uphold the Constitution as a non-partisan document. Despite her efforts to prove she was prepared to serve as an objective justice, the rage mob had already rendered their verdict. Instead of congratulating her on this milestone, the Left demonized Justice Barrett, painting her achievement as the end of women's rights.

Even the Girl Scouts of America were bullied into removing their tweet congratulating Justice Barrett on her confirmation due to the hate it received. Their post from 2016 in support of Hillary Clinton, however, remains.

The bias has never been more apparent.

Sanders, Trump, and Barret have not conformed to the ways of progressive feminism that requires a complete surrender of all beliefs that contradict their own. In the minds of the Left, these three accomplished and educated women are a threat to everything they stand for.

If the Left truly wanted to empower women, they would encourage free thought and the ability to exercise political beliefs on a national stage. Wouldn't the Left want women to speak their minds and advocate for themselves?

We know too well that the Left will only make room for the voices that echo their agenda, even if it means beating down other women. The Left is not the party of inclusion or feminism, because the moment you speak out against them, they will do their best to break you down.
